Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images, avoid embedding location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last one year.
On the login page, a temporary cookie tests if your browser accepts cookies. Login cookies last two days, screen options cookies last one year, and “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Editing or publishing a post sets a cookie that expires after one day.
Embedded Content
Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.). This content behaves as if you visited the source site: they may collect data, use cookies, embed tracking, and monitor your interaction if you’re logged in there.
Who we share data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. Other data is not shared with third parties except for spam detection services.

Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and auto-approve follow-ups. Registered users’ profile data is stored until they delete it.
